I've lived in the same apartment for a year now and am renewing my lease for another year. I received the contract from the landlord in the mail today and he's asking for $50 security deposits for the garage door opener and another $50 for the second set of keys my wife needed for our apartment. Needless to say, we paid those deposits when we moved in and have not lost either in the past year so is that fair/legit?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have never even heard of a deposit for either of those items in the first place...

If you've already paid them, then you shouldn't have to repay them. Is it just a standard lease he mailed you? If so, he might not have noticed those things are still on it, and don't apply to renewing.
