Hello good people,

I'm temporarily moving to LA b/c of work. I'm a soccer agent licensed through FIFA, but while I'm there I thought I would take a real estate agent license for the state of Cali.

Not being from the US I was wondering if I'm eligible at all? Do you have to be a US citizen to apply? I scoured the dre.ca.gov, but could only find info on out of staters, not foreigners.

It seemed relatively easy to get the license, thats why I ask. A course of 45 hours is like nothing compared to the bs I had to go through here in Norway to get the real estate license.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You do realize that the volume of houses selling in California is extremely low at the moment, right? And that situation is unlikely to change in the next few years. ....

I tend to agree with John. I actually just spoke with a friend who is a Realator and he is on the brink of being broke because the market is so fragile and there are very few people that are able to afford or are no longer in a stable job.. too risky.. to buy property here. The prices have lowered, sure, but there are too many houses on the market and they are not moving.

Are you on Facebook? There is a Norwegians in Los Angeles group -- perhaps you can do some professional networking and get some answers to your questions.
