Default Does a neighborhood with good schools, affordable housing(300K), less then 30 min to Pasadena exist?

We are considering a move from Oregon for a job in Pasadena (Rose Bowl area). We are looking for a 3 bedroom house under 300K, good schools (4th and 6th grade) cute neighborhood. Ideally looking for a 30 minute or less communte to work. Does such a place exist??

No. Closest areas are further than that. Inland Empire, High Desert, etc. You could possibly find a condo, though.

edit: I will add that prices are dropping in some places, but I don't think to your threshold yet. For instance, there are some nice neighborhoods in east Lakewood that are in the $350-400k range for a starter house. East Lakewood has some semi-sketchy neighborhoods along with nice ones. I think you'll find much of the same when you look around. Perhaps check places like Monrovia, Downey, etc.

I would research the city of Duarte and city of Azusa.

Duarte is a nice city. Azusa may not be as nice but there are some decent parts and less expensive.

Google map says Duarte and Azusa are about 16-20 mins from Pasadena off the 210 fwy.

Search listings and google street map the addresses to get a better view of the area.

Here a just a couple

1631 Duncannon Ave Duarte CA - Home For Sale and Real Estate Listing - MLS #I11115267 - Realtor.com®

5711 N Traymore Ave Azusa CA - Home For Sale and Real Estate Listing - MLS #C11080836 - Realtor.com®

Unfortunately, Azusa and Duarte have some of the worst public schools in southern California.

Good schools with a 3bd home for $300,000? That doesn't exist anywhere in L.A. county. I'm not sure you can find that anywhere in Calif.
The schools are a big challenge. Even schools in some very good neighborhoods are awful.

You can meet that standard in Temecula and Murrieta easily

Valencia/Santa Clarita might work. The housing prices are low, schools are good. The traffic once you get to the 210 is a breeze to Pasadena-do it once a month myself. Now it might not be exactly 30 minutes, but seems like the other options offered here aren't any better either.
