Hi ,

I'll be in LA for a trip in a few months, and I'd like to spend one day in Palm Springs. I know there are some bus that can take me there but I'm not sure about from where they leave ( Union Station ? or somewhere else ? )

I also know Amtrak can bring me there but there is only 1 train leaving from LA in the afternoon so...

Can you help me about this ? ^^

Thank you =)

The station is at E 7th St and Alameda, just east of Downtown.

There are five outbound buses a day going east to Palm Springs, tickets start around $20 each way.

Google them.

BUT... in Palm Springs, Greyhound shares a platform with Amtrak, which is located near I-10 a few miles north of Palm Springs proper. You'll have to arrange for transportation from the station because there is no local bus service there.

Amtrak also has a train to coach (bus) service to and from Palm Springs that is separate from the Sunset Limited train you cited. I think the first one leaves about 9AM. You can return on the Sunset Limited back to LAX if you want to stay in Palm Springs into the night. Investigate this to see if it is a fit.
