Hi everyone!

I'm new here and I figured this is the best place to ask this.

I moved to LA from Utah about a year go for my internships and some classes.
I had a roommate for about 2 months until he moved away to be with his girlfriend. 5 months later he texted my new roommate and I, saying that if he don't play him $34 for the gas bill he left us for the first month my new roommate came in that he'll sue us.

I know money is hard to come by and I'm kinda confused he waited until 5 months to freak out on us.... But is that enough money to sue us and is it even worth it?

He's been harassing me for a week now.

No offense, but he's a loser if he's going to go through the trouble of harassing you over $34. He could have had his gas turned off as soon as he bolted.

I would call his bluff, add him to the reject list on my phone, and see if he gets around to suing me. If he comes to your place and harasses you, ask him politely to leave, and if need be, threaten him with illegal trespass (assuming he has no more rights to the place) and the cops.

If he lol takes you to court, it'll probably cost him at least $34ish to do so.

why don't you just send him $34 and make it go away? Seems like the logical way out.

$34 isn't worth his time, but its also not worth yours.
