First of all, you are an idiot for misspelling your own headline. Second of all, Los Angeles is not the worst place to have children in this country. Personally, I would love to raise my children in Los Angeles than in a town of a population of 150k-300k because the city life teaches them so many things that most children dont learn 'til they are adults. Why would you want you're children to be secluded? if in the end they are going to end up adults and doing whatever they wish to do with their lives, and if they dont know the harsh realities of life they just might end up loosing themselves.

I live in Baltimore, which yes, does have one of the worst crime problems in the US. However, even here if you're not involved in the gang culture or drug trade, you'll be fine for the most part. So being someone who is "surviving" the Baltimore homicide rate, I hardly view LA, which has a much lower crime rate, as a cesspool.

Mods, why do we have heaps of these repeating, incessant threads about how LA is a $h!t-hole???
Can't anyone combine these threads?
Maybe make a huge "LA SUCKS!" mother thread?
I really don't see how these threads, all asking the SAME question, are beneficial to anyone? All the original poster wishes to do is be negative. And really, there's a time and a place for that, I know. But can't we just condense it, and keep them from smearing their crap all over our forums?
They say LA is a cesspool, well, can we start by cleaning up our OWN space? Get rid of some of the negative filth polluting our bandwidth?
Thanks in advance,
Jack

I had no idea LA had so many homicides. 535 already, and it's only August. We've lost 720 troops in Iraq so far this year. It kind of makes LA look like a war zone doesn't it?

I do not agree that this person is just trying to be negative.Your perspective on LA depends on where in the socioeconomic status you are.California with its high tax,the pollution, and a very serious gang problem that those in better areas of town might not ever encounter does have some serious issues that are not being addressed. In my opinion the high tax is one of our states most serious problems but if you live in an area where bullets are flying every night you might think the gangs are.It is all a matter of perspective. Some of the negative things being said about LA are TRUE! and people not from here might want to know before moving cross country what they are getting themselves into.I consider myself pro California more so than LA.If someone wanted to move to the southland I would not recommend Los Angeles but the suburbs are great.

Some of the complaints are valid.I hate to here on the news every time one of these young kids gets killed over drugs and ignorance.
