Check out this map of homicides the gang violence and shootings are as bad as ever with over 500 homicides.Anyone who has children you are an idiot if you move to this city.I cannot think of many worse places to move with the high housing costs, most polluted city in the USA and the incredible amount of violence in the gang culture.I cannot wait to move from here I would advise others to think about doing the same.I dont understand why many people think this place is so great.

oh plz and nowhere else in the country has crime. Southern California has 18 million people, what do you expect, you're always going to have a few bad apples in the bunch. Am I saying that we should not try to do anything to curb the problem? Absolutely not. I'm just saying that if you live in a very high population area then there most definately will be some crime. If you can't stand life in a large metropolitan area, and don't want to do anything about it(standing up for your community etc...), then please move far away to some rural area in Montana. I'm sorry but it just really ticks me off when people want the benefits of living in a large metro but can't seem to grapple with big city problems. There are things you can do beside complaining you know. |

It's interesting that as you move through the pages and see where all the flags pop up, the better portion of them are dotted around the 110 freeway. Nothing much west f the 405, despite the dense population around the beach...hmmm. There was only one murder in Manhattan Beach all year, and it appears to have been a vagrant at the hands of the Manhattan Beach PD with the aid of El Segundo PD. The only murder in PV was a body that was likely dumped. Just minutes away in areas like Athens, Inglewood, Harbor Gateway, well, that's a whole different story....

Metro L.A has over 18 Million People,so of course your gonna expect Crime and Gangs, but the Crime and Gangs were much worst in the past than it is today.
L.A is not even in the Top 10 Dangerous Cities List, but it's places like Compton and the other Ghetto's which gives the Entire L.A Region a Bad Image. Quote:

This guy is trolling. Crime in LA is way down dramatically from where it use to be in the 80s and 90s. LA is not even in the top 50 of the most dangerous U.S. cities when factoring murder rates.

LOL, did you even look at the map? Most if not all of those murders happened in the worst parts of town. Notice Downtown LA had no gang violence - I guess that means we can all move downtown right?

I think so too.
TheRealAngelion, please don't drop dead from shock but I am going to agree with you here, I had read a list that placed L.A. very far down on the list of most homicides per city. That was based on per capita (per head) rather than the total number, so...your actual odds of getting popped within a group of people. It is true that big numbers can be misleading when you're already talking about big numbers of total people, which is really what one has to worry about, right? Statistics can be a little misleading and can have shock-factor value depending upon how the person presents them. I mean if both my younger children are in a different room from me rather than just one of them, that's only a total of two children. But with both of them out of reach instead of just one of them, the chances of something being thrown, broken, chewed, or otherwise annihilated in the room has just increased by 100%. I guess OT, but I remember that Baltimore was #1 on that list. |
