That I agree with! I still get a bit hyper when driving over or under an overpass. I've learned to get over the 405 to 118 west connection doing 90 miles an hour, LOL!

How about the overpass from the 10\ Santa Monica freeway onto the south 405 freeway? Or worst than that; the 105 freeway overpass onto the northbound 110\ Harbor freeway? That overpass must be the highest in the county and you can see the entire LA basin. Damage in past earthquakes seem to be mainly freeways. The collapse of the double-deck Nimitz freeway in Oakland during the Loma Preita earthquake is where most people lost their lives. Also a section of the upper deck of the Bay Bridge collapsed onto the lower deck during the same quake. A cop on a motorcycle fell to his death when the overpass from the 14\ Antelope Valley freeway collapsed during the Northridge earthquake. The Santa Monica freeway also collapsed in places during that earthquake.

same here. I would not want to be in a high rise building or bridge. The earthquake will be a huge blow to all of Southern California. Water pipes will be broken meaning we will have to live off reservoir water(San Vicente in SD prepared for that already) the electricity will be out, power lines down, probably widespread fires, and panic all up and down the coast and all over Southern California. Phone lines will be cloged up. It won't be pretty in the slightest which is why I hope it happens in like 100 years or 2012

My sister was actually on the Antelope Valley freeway that morning on her way to work in Simi Valley. She had to drive in the opposite direction to get off when she came to a section which had collapsed I was a young child during the 1971 earthquake and it scared the beejeepers out of me, especially when my dad packed us all into the car, at my mom's insistence, so we could drive to Bakersfiled to check on my grandmother. Seeing the collapsed freeway sections was upsetting.
