My mother has two plots at Rose Hills cemetery in Whittier that she no longer needs. She decided to have her ashes scattered instead.

She needs the money for a new car. What is the best way for her to sell them? How can she find the current value?

Is there much of a market for second hand plots?

Not really second hand unless used.
They sell these to people when they are at their weakest.
You can sell them on Craigslist for the best price.

She won't get anywhere near the price she paid for them, unfortunately. The current value is whatever they would go for on the open market. Investing in pre-paid cemetery plots can be risky....I'm sure that a lot of people find themselves in the same position as your mother.

I would think she could get at least 75% of the current sales price. 25% is a good discount.
