I agree with the other guy. I lived in LB for about 8 years. There are a few nice places, but most of LB is crime ridden.

blueleo65 is on a distinguished road
I just discovered this website and I love the thread about LA. I lived in Los Angeles in Marina Del Rey from 2002 until 2007. I had to relocate because of work to Chicago (brrrr), now layed off , and I miss every moment I lived LA. Reading this thread brought back so many moments for me. I agree about all the negative aspects of the city, but to me they are well worth putting up with. Here is my list of the top 10 places to live in LA.

1. Marina Del Rey
2. Manhattan Beach
3. Brentwood/Pacific Palisades
4. Rolling Hills/Palos Verdes/Rancho Palos Verdes
5. Beverly Hills/Bel Air
6. Thousand Oaks
7. Westwood/UCLA
8. West Hollywood
9. Santa Monica/Venice
10. Belmont Shore (Long Beach)

Now granted I couldn't afford to live in any of these places, (I rented in MDR) but this is my list of the top places in LA.
