Does the OP harbor some dream of becoming the next big actress maybe? Otherwise just packing up and moving to LA makes exactly zero sense. If it just has to be Californistan, there are tons of places nicer than LA to live there.

How do you know their jobs are minimum wage? Do you know all these people personally?? Do you go up to every single car on the freeway and ask them what their wage is??? Forget about the statistics. There are jobs and not every single person is homeless. I have my agents contacting me quite often for work, my colleagues have the same experience too.
If you're a struggling actor then you just have to do other jobs until you get your big break.

I'm like you, I've been to LA and love it, but I also would consider PHX. It would still provide a radical change of scenery for me as I've lived in Florida for most of my life. My cousin has lived in San Diego since the 70's and he's talking about moving to Tucson. He's paying like $1100 a month rent in San Diego, and he could flat out buy a house in Tucson. If he goes I'll probably join up with in a couple years after college. I can apply for accounting jobs in Phoenix. Coming from humid Florida, I still consider the weather an upgrade. Plus they have In & Out and Rubio's.

Look people..you try spending almost all of your life in North Carolina...Im sorry but California seems like the logical choice for me (maybe not for some people)....Im 40, single, childless..Honestly I think I could make it....And out there I could definitely salvage my social life....

I'm sure some folks are trying to help while there are others who find nothing good about anything. Phoenix is okay, but in no way can compare to Los Angeles or San Diego. Good Luck in your decision. Maybe once in California (if that's your decision) we should attempt to meet up next Summer!

I'm sure some folks are trying to help while there are others who find nothing good about anything. Phoenix is okay, but in no way can compare to Los Angeles or San Diego. Good Luck in your decision. Maybe once in California (if that's your decision) we should attempt to meet up next Summer!
