Traveling to LA for the holiday, what are the must sees, and what is the weather like. We will be in the downtown area.

Very broad question. Must sees for who? What are your interests? Your ages? Why are you going to L.A (that would be a start saying what your interests are)? What do you already plan on seeing (presumably you have some places in mind already)? Do you plan to stick just to the City of L.A., or also the greater County of L.A., and maybe adjacent counties (e.g., Orange, where Disneyland is located)? Entire guide books have been written about L.A. If you narrow down your question, people could help more. Some might want to see the usual Hollywood-related sights (even if they're not all in Hollywood) or beaches, while some might be most interested in history and/or architecture. You might also say why you chose downtown as a place to stay. It's an interesting area, but not the typical choice for most first-time tourists. What hotel?

If you don't want to scan a guide book, you could find Web sites for tours (e.g, Grayline) and see where they go. Even if you don't go on a tour if might give you ideas.

See www.metro.net for public transportation in L.A. County. If you have a car, you could run into high parking fees at downtown hotels.

Look at www.weather.com for weather (if you go to month and then averages you can see average temps for your dates of travel).
