I am going to LA area sometime in November. On a tight budget. Was wondering if there are any cheap decent hotels in SAFE neighborhood???? (I'm 29/F) so it has to be a NON scary area so I won't die or get jumped going to my car in a parking lot!!!

I live in Chicago area, and even out in the burbs, you will find a Motel 6 for $40 a night in a GREAT area. Is this possible in LA/Hollywood area?

Any suggestions? I will have a rental car. I just need to be somewhat near the airport - within 30 mins.

impossible. You would probably have to go out to Palmdale to get something that cheap.

I live in South Bend, not far from you in Chicago. I've been to L.A. several times and honestly the best deal I found was a place called "The Hacienda" it's a hotel not far from LAX. We were there back in April and it was only $70. something a night. I know your used to the same rates I am,$40.a night, but LA is a different world than the midwest, you gotta look hard for deals and even when you find them they are twice what they are here.
The Hacienda is HUGE. It's not the fanciest or the cleanest, but it does the job and its in a good area. Theres a grocery and starbucks across the street too. Pretty decent stay for LA. We like it. Look it up online. Good luck!

I work across the street from that Hotel. It's a good area, you will find that pilots and flight attendants stay at that hotel. The area is safe and it's pretty close to the beach and close to the airport. You may be able to get some deals at that hotel as long as you are not going on a Holiday weekend. On Holidays all hotels increase their prices and they are harder to book.

If you have hotel points (hilton honors) there is a Hilton Garden Inn just down the street. There is also a Marriott, both can be pricey but if you have awards or you may find some deals on line.

Best Wishes on your trip to LA....

Claremont Hotel

Located in Westwood Village/near UCLA. Denny's about 200 feet away, Palaminio Restaurant & Bar. Close to the 405 Freeway, Santa Monica,
Beverly Hills etc.

Very safe area & reasonable rates.

i'd go with the hacienda. i live near it. the rooms aren't great, but it's cheap and there's a lot to do nearby. it's also in a very safe neighborhood just minutes from LAX and the beach

Pasadena Area was always reasonable, but this year prices were higher for some reason?

Stayed at the Santa Anita Inn a few times. There appears to be long term residents? but our rooms were always clean and comfortable.

Last month we stayed at the Oak Tree Inn Monrovia, which was pretty reasonable.
