I am considering a job in Burbank, CA. I currently live in Chicago and have lived here all of my life. What is the Burbank area like; housing (I currently have a condo but am thinking of renting). What areas should I look at in Burbank or surrounding areas that are reasonable? How is the traffic in that area? How is the social life? I am a female in my mid twenties. Is it pretty easy to meet people and are they friendly?

Thank you

Burbank is a great town ! You will love it !
Lots to see and do ... after all it is the home
of Warner Bros and Disney studios !
My suggestion would be to go to
REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale and do a search of
properties in the area.
The surrounding cities include:
Glendale, Toluca Lake, Encino, Sunland,
Shadow Hills, La Crescenta, Montrose.
They are all within 10 - 15 min drive from Burbank !

Good Luck and keep us posted !

Burbank is a very nice city! its about 10 mins away from the downtown area on the freeway. Theres a lot of shopping centers, restaurants, clubs, and very nice neighborhoods for the most part. As for meeting people you should go to the Burbank town cener which is on N. San Fernando Blvd and E. Olive Avenue...theres a lot of restaurants, caffe's, bars and people there all the time. People in California arent very friendly on the streets but if you immediately tell them you just moved from Chicago I assure you that they will be more than happy to talk to you and show you around.

Burbank is one of the nicest, friendliest areas in Southern California. You're also right over the hill from all the Hollywood clubs. There's plenty to do, it's clean and safe and has great vibe.
