Hey I am moving to LA in January to finish school...hopefully at UCLA!!
First I am going to a Community college so i can get residency..I have applied to several but dont know which would be cheapest to live near and have the most opportunities to work nearby, I do have a car and I am bringing it. the Schools I am looking at attending are LA City, LASW, East LA, LA Valley...Any ideas on which place would make the transition easiest for a 21 year old pre law who needs to save up would be Great!!!! Thanks

I believe Santa Monica College has the highest rate of transfers to UCLA of all community colleges. Here is a link to their website for more info: Santa Monica College

I would second that. It's also located in a better area than those other community colleges.

LASW is in pretty much the Compton/Inglewood type area, so you definitely dont want to go there. East LA, just look at the name...East LA is a horrible place. Valley is ok, not great.

you're best bet is SMCC, definitely. that would be my first choice for a CC. even though the area is more expensive, it will be worth it when you have a higher chance of going to UCLA
