That's the thing! The actual residents are
not against the subway or even the current routing!
This is literally 20-50 residents hijacking the transportation needs of a mega-region, mainly because they feel like they got the shaft from Metro.
The best part is Beverly Hills is trying to make themselves out to be the "underdog" or "little guy" fighting the big bad Soviet bloc Metro.

century city will not be skipped. in a worst case scenario, the station would be located under Santa Monica Blvd rather that Constellation. We're talking about 1,000 ft, but Constellation is at the center of Century City making it the more obvious location for a station.

Studies ended up proving that the Santa Monica Blvd stop would be located on a fault and be unsafe. Unfortunately they would have to skip it.
