Default Moving to Westchester 90045 - ISP, Cable, etc.

We're moving this weekend and really excited about it. Lots of adjusting as we're moving to a 1/1 small house. BUT, it has an incredible eden-ish backyard.

We've been with Verizon and very happy with bundle deal we have. However, no Verizon in 90045. Suggestions?

We went over a year with no cable/satellite but finally bit the bullet and now feel spoiled again. So, I'm open to internet only options but will do the bundle if we find a good deal that has good service/connection.

Middle aged couple, not real tech savvy. So be 'gentle' with terminology. Thanks! cj

Also, any other recommendations/advice/input on area welcomed. We will be moving to Glider Ave. in that little triangle. Seems like a very quiet, clean area.

You're probably stuck with Time Warner (Roadrunner) for Internet, and Time Warner or a satellite provider for TV.

I've used them before. When you say, 'stuck', are you narrowing them down to best bet or? What about ATT - I don't think I've ever used them before but Verizon said they would cover my new address.

We have Verizon FIOS now and I'm quite satisfied with them. I've only had one technical issue and they were very prompt and helpful.

I envy you that you are already there in CA. We still have a month and a half to go before I can return to my home state.

I've used Time Warner for years, and their internet is great. TV (and the tech surrounding TV) seems lacking. Customer Service is bottom of the barrel, but thankfully I don't need to deal with them much.

I have Verizon Fios in another property, and its fantastic. I don't have access to it in my neighborhood either, which stinks.

If you're referring to ATT Uverse, go for it - I've heard great things.

small world - our home state is Texas (Ft. Worth). and I gotta say, we really enjoy the climate here in socal and all the outdoor activities it lends itself to.

Welcome back - next month.

We had TW internet here prior to going with Verizon. I'm thinking the reason we went with Verizon was due to 'no contract'. And thinking both ATT & TWC require contracts, but not certain. KNEE DEEP in stuff! Selling appliances, packing, cleaning, moving... but now that we've gotten so comfy with TV, I want to get cable back up pretty quick.

Pretty sure I'm about to drop some plates. I really appreciate you taking the time to shed some light cable options. Enjoy the rain... cj

No problem.

I don't recall ever having a contract with TWC.

I had U-Verse for a year in Oakland and really liked it. The HD picture quality was fine and the internet wasn't noticeably slower than when I had cable from Comcast which was way more expensive, like $40 a month more. I imagine it's cheaper than Time Warner. I don't think AT&T does contracts. Just try and lock in the cheapest deal from them then when it's about to expire threaten to cancel it and they'll keep it cheap for you.

Since Uverse is getting kudos I checked it out (even though I need to be PACKING) lol. It appears that 90045 only gets the Uverse Internet and they refer me to ATT/DirectTV.

So I'll compare that to TWC.
