Default Franklin Village area - things to do

Hi Everyone,

I've finally moved into my new apartment near Franklin Village. Is anyone familiar with this area? What kind of trouble can a 30-something single female get into? And by trouble I mean what are the good restaurants? The calm bars to get an after work cocktail? How about culture? I figure I've been to LA for over a month now (2 weeks in my new apartment) and should start making an effort to meet people and/or at least explore my new neighborhood.

You guys have been great with your advice so I'm back for more.

Default What did you find in/around Franklin Village???

Tomorrow I move into an apartment on Bronson just north of Franklin. Being that I'm a 30-something single male new to Franklin Village, I am curious what gems you have discovered to find "trouble" in-and-around my new neighborhood.

Have you found any good places to dine, get "...an after work cocktail" or any pockets of “culture” in my new domain? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide in my efforts to explore my new locality!

Geez, you guys have fun right around the corner. I'm not a drinker but hang out at the Bourgeois Pig (coffee house). I love the vibe. La Poubelle is a fabulous French Bistro with a great wine list. Later in the evening the crowd gets hot and merry. The block these are on is full of life. If that doesn't suffice, Hollywood Blvd is oh so close...

Hi, I've been to Birds on Franklin and that was pretty good except for the guy who I found taking a whiz in the hallway.

A good place to have crepes/breakfast, etc is Solar de Cahuenga. It's a cool place to bring your laptop or a book and hang. It's on the corner of Franklin and Cahuenga. Highly recommended.

I'm still looking for a barstool or lounge chair to call my own so I'm going to take Sorcerer68's advice and check out the Bourgeois Pig. Thanks Sorcerer!!! I walked by the Pig after going to Birds and the place was hoppin'.

LostAlaskan, please keep me posted on what you find.
