King0fthehill & SurekRZA, you have the MOST crisp, clear photos I've EVER seen! I want to get a new camera. What brand(s) of camera(s) do you guys have? (BTW, I'm just an amateur photographer).

Great pics of Hollywood and LA. I love them all. Very crisp photos, too. I plan on visiting again, as I have a few friends in San Bernardino.

SurekRZA doesn't take his own pics. KOTH uses a Canon or Olympus I believe.

Filling out the southern end of the skyline quite nicely, along with 717 Ninth.

717 Ninth - Sunday, February 15

That corner penthouse unit should be pretty nice...

With Concerto poking up on the left.

We've seen some renders with a "jungle" theme over the parking podium. I'm not sure if this is it, a test, or just a supergraphic, but I really hope this isn't permanent. It just looks bad.

I am kind of an amateur as well. Do you want a DSLR or point and shoot?

There's too many Point and Shoots to suggest without knowing your price range and the features you want, but the best DSLR for an amateur is the Nikon D40. The Nikon D60 and Canon Rebel XS are also very good. But with DSLRs, the lens is more important so if you are on a budget, get the Nikon D40 and great lenses instead of a D60 with okay lenses.

We begin with America's Suburb: the san fernando valley

Cookie-cutter development

The 405 through Van Nuys

Parking lots! Ahh my eyes!

The Valley. That be where pornos come from.

LA River, upstream in Reseda

Some density in Tarzana :dunno:

Now let's work our way up the hills

Moving over the hills of Tarzana

Happy landslide everyone!

Nature, smack dab in the middle of the city

three bikers bikin' Topanga State Park

More hills

Say what you will about LA but basically it comes down to this

Topanga Canyon Blvd, in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains

Over the mountains, we come to the ocean

Clifftop neighborhood

Getty Villa, center left, in Malibu

PCH

moving southward toward santa monica......or is it eastward, i dunno the coast bends funny here.

Santa Monica pier (century city skyline waaaaaay back in the distance):

Beachfront

Okay enough bull**** lets see some city. Santa Monica place

This little 4 lane interchange marks the I-10's start of its epic transcontinental journey to Florida:

Some SaMo density on SaMo blvd + 7th ave

now we move eastward across the basin, looking up arizona toward westwood

Westwood

The Getty Museum, a fine place to chill

A vineyard, a throwback to LA's agricultural days

UCLA foreground, westwood centerground, century city background. Deceptively dense >:}

Leaving westwood, moving east, downtown LA finally visible

but lets uhhh

More Holmby hills

beverly hills

rodeo drive

Beverly Hills AGAIN.

By the way these jacarandas can be seen everywhere in the LA area. at their may peak they provide a lovely flourescent canopy for resedential streets

okay enough rich people homes. heeeeere's hollywood. well sunset to be exact

sunset boulevard, we love it!

Hollywood hills

More sunset. the white dainty building is the chateau marmont. thats where i take all my hookers

Hollywood Blvd

zee kodak

hollywood looking west probably

a swanky as **** W hotel u/c

the arclight near sunset+vine, and west of it the best record store in the world, Amoeba music!

great historic neighborhood--oh, nope, wait thats a movie set >_<

miscellany

a hop from hollywood, downtown rises

but first, some koreatown wilshire

wilshire is the happy trail that leads to the pleasure zone

the proof is in the pudding. and the pudding in this case is sixth st.

eat my skyline

i seeeeeee you glendale! oh yeah theres mountains in LA I guess

City West

110 freeway. that parking lot will have 3 towers built on it..........IN ABOUT 20 YEARS

squirt squirt

70 stories of goodness comin soon to that parking lot above right

baby, you've got potential.

Wonderful pictures. I'd wish the whole L.A would be as beautiful as were the areas you took pictures from.
