Whew! Read the whole thing. Never getting that hour back.

I am thinking troll though. First of all, he is supposedly working with a popular British music producer. Maybe the producer has never heard this, but Americans LOVE British music. So, a really hot performer can make music over there and it can reach here.

Why would a producer be tossing out his or her big talent? And even if that were true, wouldn't the big producer set up real meetings with industry folks instead of letting the fresh new talent face arrest and banishment by stalking celebs' houses?

And finally, American Dream? Seriously? I think most of those songs get funneled to Nashville anyway.

I seriously doubt anyone, who had better things to do, would be on C-D wasting time in the first place.

And trolls usually don't post again and again in the same thread but who knows?

You call it negativity, we call it people who know the industry and know that what you're trying to do is the exact opposite of how to be taken seriously. This is your only real topic, despite your "five questions," as evidenced by the fact that you continue to ask how to find celebs after we told you that it's the sure-fire way to kill your career at the outset. In this day and age, stalking celebs, even with the intent of trying to get them to pay attention to your work, is asking for a whole lot of trouble.

We've given you advice on using your current connections, and how to form realistic ones when you're here (and trust me, you NEED those realistic ones). We've done this with a lot of people who have posted about wanting to come here to pursue their dreams. The ones who are interested in becoming "stars" usually blow us off and tell us we're wrong. Then there are those who heed the advice, and I've seen them make some great choices that are really going to help them gain a good footing here. It's up to you. But we're only industry people who see this stuff all the time, what do we know?
Thank you. For instance, I direct motion pictures and am on IMDB. I lived in Los Angeles for more than a decade working at two studios including Universal, in features development. Whoever she, he, or it is, either this person is trolling the whole lot of you, or the worst kind of nutcase this industry attracts: i.e., bound to become a stalker and be arrested.

Tactic # 1: Starry-eyed naivete about the business.

Tactic # 2: Intention to become "a star": not excel in their supposed music.

Tactic # 3: Intention to meet celebrities, thinking that's how you become a big music star. Uh-huh.

Tactic # 4: Attempt to control tone of thread: "You're being disrespectful".

When the above failed, it became:

Tactic # 5: Faint but clear allusions to their own "celebrity", including a UK producer (which since David Gamson has meant zero to the American music industry, and you would think "a celebrity" would know this), hinting at their own superiority to everyone else on the thread, and "refusing" to show links to their work. Yet they desperately want and need the help of those they are superior to.

Tactic # 6: Trying to reposition themselves and you on the thread by making you, who have never seen or heard of this bint, gather round and worship her.

Fail.

Allow this experienced feature film director to give you the single best advice on moving to LA and making it you can possibly receive:

Please keep your snaggle-toothed self at home making basement recordings with your friend in Hackney and do not come here to further clog American streets and resources with your likely dubious talent. Someone exhibiting your characteristics is literally an extra in this town; and the production is, "LA: Gooder At Making People Homeless Than Any Other City". Interested in auditioning anyway? Be our guest; you're destined for yet another starring role.

What obvious trolling. I'd laugh if it didn't make me so angry this morning.

No need to get angry. This stuff makes for ironic posting pleasure.

Tupac is still alive....
So funny how you try to define why this thread is being so successful. I'm sorry if this topic attracts a lot of people and I'm sorry that I inform on a forum full of AMERICANS for me as a EUROPEAN artist to get to know LA a bit more. LA is the place to be if you want to become a star. I'm not saying it can't happen anywhere else but I believe in surrounding myself around opportunities and guess what ... LA is the place to be. Also about celebrities , a lot of people are very superficial and they really don't care about what you do until you drop some names you've worked with. If it was only for the talent than I don't think 80 percent of the artists on Billboard would be able to be on Billboard. Half of the songs I hear are production wise not bad but not the best thing you would expect with all these techniques and fancy new products to create music. It is indeed true that I bump my thread sometimes thanks to the lack of answers that are related to the questions I was asking. If 50 percent of the members is making fun of the thread with the very boring one liners it's no surprise I will bump the thread asking for more answers and info. One of the members here thought it was ridiculous and a waste of time to come on this forum and ask for questions but I prepare myself to the fullest and I had some VERY interesting answers and opinions on LA and becoming a star. Thanks for answering my questions. With the time you spend promoting your theory that this thread is one conspiracy to troll this forum you maybe could've written something informational....

It's early and I'm en route to work, so I thought I'd chime in:

Surely you understand his trepidation. Your question of whether committing a felony was appropriate to get your voice heard was absurd. If you were in England and broke in to Vinnie Jones place, what would happen? While the results would be no doubt spectacular, I doubt you would appreciate them.

While I can't comment on the LA celebrity scene, it sounds like you're looking to become famous no matter what for: Television, music, movies, et al? Is that accurate? If not, that is definitely the attitude you've portrayed. If it is, then there are a few things you should know:

1) Celebrity comes in many forms, from the vajazzling exploits of The Only Way is Essex reality shows to the famous-for-simply-being-famous Katie Prices of the world to the Shakespearian plays of Sir Anthony Hopkins. Despite some seeming more respectable, all are difficult and require a great deal of luck or talent. Even people from Britain who are incredibly attractive and/or talented, such as Gemma Atkinson or Christopher Eccleston have found difficulty. Others, such as Sir Anthony Hopkins or Christian Bale have done well, but only due to great sacrifice(Watch The Machinist for examples of why Christian Bale is well respected as an actor - with good cause).

Decide what celebrity you want and go for it. Each will require different strengths.

2) Get your work out there. If people ask for examples of your work, give it gladly. You want to be recognized. One person has claimed to be a director and you didn't show your work. Yes, it seems you may have alienated him somewhat, but if Hollywood refused to work with people they didn't like, they would quickly close shop.

3) Network internally. Hugh Jackman, one of the funniest and genuinely nicest people in the business, did not simply move to LA. His agent sent a headshot and he flew for twenty hours to an audition. If you're a singer, I assume you have someone who handles your work side? Do they have any contacts? Or contacts with contacts? Utilize him.

There is more, but that is the bare minimum. If you don't know what you want to be famous for, don't get your face and work noticed and don't use resources you must already have, you won't make it anywhere long term.

Even Snooki has an agent.
