Default Long Beach Job Listings?

I'm wondering what some good places are to look for a job in Long Beach. I've looked at Craigslist but there doesn't seem to be a lot for Long Beach specifically, also if you could tell me what areas are nearby in LA or Orange County (that would be around a 1/2 hour commute) that would be helpful.

I would check the Grunion Gazette for local Long Beach jobs. It's a small neighborhood paper that has a lot of good information. Check for it online. I would not bother with the Press Telegram, which is the city's paper. The Los Angeles Times sometimes has jobs for LB and surrounding areas. Another place to look is Jobtrak, which is a subsidiary portion of Monstertrak. It is basically the online job board for Long Beach State and other colleges and universities. They have some good postings. Surrounding areas within a half hour commute include Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Lakewood, Huntington Beach, Westminster, Garden Grove, Cypress and San Pedro...half an hour is hard to guestimate based on the unpredicability of traffic here...maybe you could make it to parts of the south bay, but most likely not. What can take half an hour one day can easily take an hour or more the next. Good luck.

Depending what type of job you're looking for Gazettes.com may not be for you. Most of the ads are for the 2nd Street establishments (lot's of bars, restaurants, cafes, expensive boutiques, etc.).

Monster.com

Also I would check the Orange County Regisiter. East Long Beach is very close to OC. Los Alamitos has plenty of large companies.

Dougnaie is right, the PT stinks.

Good luck.

You could also just check the usual job sites like Monster and CareerBuilder and select Long Beach as your location. You should get quite a few listings that way.

One of the nice things about LB is its central location. I live in LB and can commute as far south as Irvine and as far north as Culver City. It' harder going North than South. Irvine can be done in 35 minutes.
