Default I-710

I'm thinking about moving to Long Beach. I would have to commute via I-710 for about 14 miles to work. The total distance is 18.85 miles to Commerce. Mapquest says 26 mins. Can anyone give me an idea how long it would be including traffic?

Go to sigalert.com and examine the traffic speeds for the times you expect to commute. I think google maps has estimated times "in traffic" too.

710 is not fun. I would give it 45 minutes going north, an hour going south (due to the port and trucks).

Yeah but their traffic times are a joke. It says I should be able to make it from the El Toro Y to Fountain Valley in 30 minutes in traffic. In reality, its more like 60-75 minutes.

sigalert speeds in rush hour are always 10-20mph faster than what they really are. if you see 3 or more yellow dots in a row, you can assume that part is completely jammed.

It's not the I-710 because the 710 is not interstate.

You might think about taking Metrolink. Metrolink goes straight from Long Beach into downtown, then another train would take you back to Commerce -- but Commerce is really close to downtown so you wouldn't be backtracking much.
