Hi!

My family and I are currently enjoying a vacation in Southern California. We are staying in the Fullerton area while we make trips to Knotts, Disney, Universal Studios, etc.

Our flight on Sunday departs at 8:00 a.m. We have to drop off our rental car at the airport before our departure. What time should we leave our motel to (hopefully!) be there in time? What route would you recommend?

Thanks so much!

There won't be any traffic early Sunday morning. I would take 91W->110N->105W->405N. Should take about 45 minutes so I'd leave at 5:30 to 5:45am with a rental car return. Actually I'd leave at 6am but I like to live on the wild side

Hop on the 91 West then get on the 110 North then get on the 105 West and exit on Sepulveda Blvd to get to LAX. Traffic shouldn't be bad. The 91 is a parking lot, the 110 is awful too but I've never had trouble with the 105...maybe I'm just lucky. However on a sunday morning I don't think traffic will be an issue. But don't rule it out. The 91 is a main artery between Orange County and the Riverside area and is very heavily used, just keep that in mind. LAX can get very packed also. I'd aim to arrive at the airport at least an hour and a half before my departure to be safe, maybe even sooner. The drive on clear freeways shouldn't be more than half an hour. But I'd make room anyway. So....assuming you aren't too familiar with the area, you should probably leave maybe around 5am, no later than 5:30 or so. Enjoy Los Angeles in the Mean time

No matter which route you take, there shouldn't be any traffic at that time on a Sunday unless there is an accident of some sort. 91w-110n-105w or 91w-605n-105w. Check google maps or sigalert.com prior to departure and take the fastest route. It should take 40 minutes or so to get there.
