Its funny because I drive by there now and don't notice if they are there or not.
Ya, the only one I could see was about halfway up the California Incline. Maybe someone who drives up the CI to/from work can snap a photo and post it.

We drove by that area this past weekend and I could not find any of the doors. They may still be there, I might not be remembering the right location. I was kind of bummed that I couldn't find them, I wanted to show my kids

That is where they store all the gold that's in California. Only thing is that its all in somebody elses name.

I also remember those doors. I always thought they were for one of the utilities, water, power or such. As a kid I did wonder if there was someone living there, or if some guy up on top had his own route to the beach.

We have that kind of thing here in the Twin Cities - a lot of them were used to store beer and had breweries nearby (nice and cool). Some were big enough caves to have speakeasies back in prohibition too. :-)

Ok, we drove down PCH yesterday (wow, was it a gorgeous day! Could see Catalina & down the coast for miles & miles) and I was really looking for the door(s). I could not see them. They were near the area where the road comes down the hill to PCH, right? That's where I am remembering them. We were in traffic so I had time to look around, but I just could not find it.

My son thinks I'm crazy & that I am just making it up!

i live about 6 blocks from there. i'll go take a look (during the day) and report back.

to be clear, should i look north or south of the California Incline? and should i look at the base of the Palisades? or mid-way up? or? any help would be welcome.

i truly hope there are trolls or tiny men in caps and pointed shoes. i love those.

I think I saw one when I started this thread last October. I think it was on the California Incline and as a kid I remember them on PCH a little further north. I didn't see any on PCH last October. I will be driving from Long Beach to my parents' house in Calabasas next Thursday late afternoon so I'll take that route home and snap a photo.
