Default Fun Bars in LA?!

So... me and some girlfriends are coming to LA in November and I want to go out to a local bar for a night on the town. I have never been to LA before but I've heard it's loaded with beautiful people... (size 0s wearing prada)! Well, I'm a normal woman sized girl, and although I am beautiful my fingers aren't loaded with diamonds soooo that being said... anyone know of a fun local bar for NORMAL middle class people in the LA area? I like country bars but IDK if I can expect to find one of those in LA... lol.

Advice?

Where are you going to be staying? LA isn't exactly small, and there are quite a few bars in "LA".

Stop by Tokyo Delve Sushi.... the food is meh, but it's low-brow entertainment with lots of drinking & singing. There really is nothing like it in LA. You'll feel like you're in high school again.

Don't know if it is still in existance because the web-site appears to be down but me and 2 friends stumbled onto the Red Rock Bar on the Sunset Strip not too long ago. Nestled up to the bar in the early afternoon with the idea of haveing a drink and continuing with our pub crawl and ended up staying for hours because the people and staff were so fun and friendly torwards us old fogies. Nestled right on the strip with an open (no windows) atmosphere that made you feel you were right out on the strip and the action. Good music, drinks, food and fun.

Try Barney's Beanery at Santa Monica Blvd and Holloway Drive. A lot of out of towner and recently relocated residents frequent this bar and they are kind of country looking at times. When I've been
there, I saw a lot of normal sized women and most people were having a lot of fun.

I agree with Red Rock and Barney's Beanery. Good prices and happy hours, mellow crowd, more normal not pretentious.

It all depends on what part of town you're in. The above two bars are in west hollywood. Around there you can also find Saddle Ranch, Rock N Roll reillys, cabo cantina, isla cantina, the den, to fit your requirements...

In the westside there are many places, such as Q's bar, westwood brewco, maloney's, another barneys, another cabo cantina, mom's bar, circle bar, several irish pubs

Q's Bar: UCLA Students
Westwood Brewco: UCLA Students
Maloney's: UCLA Students
Cabo Cantina: UCLA Students
Mom's Bar: Big line on Weekends for this place that used to provide for the morning drinkers.
I think they got rid of the Shopping cart stalls in the back since the new owner took over.
Circle Bar: Can be interesting
Several Irish Pubs: All can be interesting

Don't mean to hijack this thread but a buddy of mine is visiting from back home and he has a knack for the older ladies. Anyone know of any bars filled with cougars? Lol

JT's Beach Club in Whittier has a reputation as a cougar bar.

Maybe a plurality of UCLA students, but who cares? UCLA students fit the OP's requirements generally. Also, Cabo Cantina has multiple locations in LA from the Sunset Strip to MDR.

There's also South on Wilshire Blvd in santa monica.. gaslite as well, which is far more dive and serves alcohol at 630 Am...

Busby's on Santa Monica Blvd and berkeley in santa monica (also wilshire and la brea more midcity) also fits what you're looking for.

More establishments are down to earth and middle class in LA than not.
