I live in Carson and work in El Segundo...lots of times using 405 Freeway takes me 45 minutes to get to work, that's 12 miles only.

Just a tip

Torrance to Burbank, you'll be taking the 110 north.
I can see heavy congestion in the 110 when you hit the 105, 10, downtown and 101 junctions.

I know the 405 north commute from Carson to West LA, and have been doing it since Jan 2001.

If I leave carson and i'm on the 405 by:
5:30, I exit Montana (1 exit after wishire) by 5:50; that's 20 minutes on a 28 mile trip, and top speed at 80 mph.

5:40, I exit Montana by 6:10 am; 30 minute trip.

6:00, I exit Montana by 6:45 am; 45 minute trip.

Anytime after 6:15 to 7:00, it's about 1 hour already.

It seems like anytime between 7:00 to 8:00 it's 1 hour and 15 minutes.

8:00 to 9:15 can be up t to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Add about 15 to 30 minutes if there is an accident on either northbound of southbound.

9:15 to 10:00 takes about 45 minutes to more than 1 hour and 15 minutes.

There's always a stretch of the freeway where you can go as fast at 80 mph, then come to a complete stop just before the 105.

The LAX junction sucks the most, I find it faster to go to the right most lane using the LAX Century offramp and aggressively merge onto the left more lane.

The Carpool lane ends and becomes a regular lane by Howard Hughes/Slauson, but don't take it yet as many merges into in, leaving the lane 2 faster.

Then another suck jam just before the 10 junction, and a cluster of cars exiting and entering from Wilshire backing up the 3 right most lanes. So I stay clear on the left until after Wilshire where it's a fast exist to Montana.

Also, traffic even sucks more when UCLA classes are in session. You can tell traffic i lighter when UCLA is off.

You can take the Blue Line to Union Station then transfer to the Metrolink to Burbank. It stops near downtown. Ride the train and avoid the stress of driving in rush hour. Blue line has park and ride stations.

Hello Sunnyz12345,

I live in Torrance and commute to Burbank every day of the week. Would you be interested in carpooling? If so, write back to my email address at suzyinchatsworth@yahoo.com.

I would be curious to know the time it takes to do this.
