If you live in an apartment would you recommend it to someone else to move in? I've been searching through YELP and on westside rentals and padmapper but I need real life comments on apartments. The most consistent comments I've heard/read about LA apartments are:

1. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in your neighbors' apartment such as their tv (even if it's not loud), their conversations and having "relations"
2. Parking is hell. Even if you have a paid parking space people park in your space
3. Management issues
4. People not picking up after their dogs
5. Pools not being kept clean

Is there anyone that lives in an apartment that is actually happy with where they live and can you tell me where it is. I'm open to most anything east of the 405, west of the 5 and north of the 10 freeways.

People that talk about apartments online are the ones who have had bad experiences. If you have a good experience you don't talk about it like a restaurant. Your area is so wide. What's your budget? Try to narrow somewhat, you could be in Westwood or Koreatown with your specifications.

I have read some apartment reviews where people posted positive reviews but most of the reviews are pretty old and I'm looking for more recent or current experiences.

Budget:$3000/month could go up to $3500
Bedrooms: 2+
Bathroom: 2+

Areas I don't like: Koreatown, Downtown, Echo Park
Areas I do like: West Hollywood, Hollywood, Westwood, Los Feliz, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Silverlake, Larchmont

You'll be able to afford an apartment in any area so thats not an issue. Most smaller complexes do not advertise, you have to walk the neighborhood. So you're probably looking at a corporate run apartment that has a lot of amenities.

Palazzo in Westwood and the Grove is pricy fancy (still probably in your range) and popular..

Park La Brea has some nice apartments

In West Hollywood there is Mediterranean Village, Kings Roads Apartments, and the various Villas (Cezanne, Esther, Francisca)... all decent and corporate run. The nicest one may be the Crescent.

Studio City's best complex is Archstone.

This is just a start. There's so much more out there. I've lived in 3 of these complexes, PM me if you want personal experience.
