Minneapolis takes the cake for tall whites. Chicago whites seemed watered-down in terms of height because of all the Greeks, Jews, Italians, and Eastern Europeans. Sort of how it is in LA.

West LA is a mix of mostly Jewish natives and white yuppie transplants from the midwest and east. So there will be some people of germanic/nordic descent there.

I agree. Even compared to OC, the Latino guys in LA are noticably shorter than their counterparts down here. At 5'9", I felt about I was about average height in LA, but just a little "vertically challenged" here in OC.

How come you're so fixated with height and the height of LA guys and how you feel like one of the taller ones? Just curious. Didn't you post something like this in a previous thread? I believe it was in a post about your first impressions of LA when you first moved here.

I think it is a function of who you hang out with, where you work etc. Downtown LA most of the men I see and work with seem quite tall.

Yeah, I tower over most everybody in every city at 6'7", so I never notice these things.

L.A. is a difficult place for a 5'11" female, that much I can tell you. I wonder if it is part of the reason so many women stay single here, or why it's the lesbo capital of the world. Height isn't everything, I hate to be superficial, but I do (like most) prefer a guy who is at least as tall as me. Which narrows it down quite a bit.

I think I'm about average at 5'9. Some guys I see are much taller but they are real thin. I don't feel insecure around them as I know I'm a lot stronger than them and could easily overpower them in a fight.

It's funny you mentioned this. I noticed a lot of short guys on OKC. The hispanic community in LA is ridiculous, they're so tiny. My friend is trying to meet a Jewish guy but she complains that they're all short. I have started to notice this too.

I don't know why LA is so short. I meet a lot of tall guys in the hood and they're all black.

If you want tall, try a police or fire station. Seems most of the officers/firefighters are 6' plus, even the women. At 6'2", I'm one of the shortest men in my division.
