As has been said...(also I HAVE been around these areas quite bit)...a lot of Compton looks very nice...so do a lot of the areas in N.LBC. However, especially with Compton and a lot of the west side of S.CENTRAL...looks can be decieving...look where icecube and wc grew up...around 111th/western/etc...really nice looking houses, looks like suburbia...but a pretty good sized crip set is right there. L.A has a thing about looking nice but still being able to get your head blown off...not saying it happens all the time, but it can. Just because a hood looks nice doesnt mean its a great area to live. Watts is a little more run down, like the majority of the east side compared to the westside but still has some nice so bad looking areas...but still has the gangs and crime.

Big white dude here...have been in a lot of watts and compton ...took long beach blvd all the way up to where it turns into pacific through vernon...been through the east side of s.central at night into watts...and never once had a problem...most gang members are looking for other members...not strangers...but still i wouldnt want my mom walking through there...driving is fine usually...

Not sure. Never been to any of the places on the list. How much do they resemble Oxnard?

Anyone actually know the most dangerous neighborhood or zip code of LA? If we went by how run down it looks, Watts would definitely be near the top.
111th and western, los angeles - Google Maps

South Gate looks pretty nice in some parts, especially considering it's in eastern SCLA.
Compton looks like a typical middle class suburb...but in reality is far from it!!

LA is a very deceptive city. Even ELA can look pretty nice.

Besides Watts, I can't even think of any ghetto looking areas.

Sure their are Hispanic gangs in Oxnard. Have those other communities created gang injunctions like we have now in Oxnard? Gang members in Oxnard that display their colors, mode of dress, or associate in public with other gang members can be picked up and taken in. Their is a no tolerance attitude now in Oxnard and it seems to have helped as the amount of gang related crimes has declined in Oxnard since the injunction went into effect. Other local cities don't like it because the gang members now have begin congregating on other areas. Not to say that in Oxnard we don't have a gang problem, just that it is on the decline. It has been interesting when they try to walk around with Cowboys garb, especially when the Dallas Cowboys were in training camp. The police love that. But then the police seem to know who is in the gangs and who are not in the gangs.
