No job security, little safety net, high unemployment, small job growth. I mean how did you not expect all this to affect Americans?
I just think people make things seem worse than they really are. many people struggle financially but are still happy, probably because they learned their lesson that money doesn't buy happiness and now they appreciate the small things in life.

plus a lot of people move from countries with a high quality of life index to countries with a lower quality of life index all the time, its mostly snowbirds though like with all the Minnesotans that move to Arizona.

Finland belongs to the Fenno-Scandia (And northern Sweden and northern Norway belongs too).
Iceland is not part of Scandinavia, In fact only southern Sweden and southern Norway belongs to the peninsula of Scandinavia...And Denmark dont belong to the peninsula of Scandinavia.

How ever, all together are called in "daily speak" as an Scandinavia because of connections in culture, defence, language and similar values in life style.

Being happy all you want doesn't mean you will have security. I am not talking about people learning the life lesson that money doesn't buy you happiness but that many people would prefer a sense of security.

Jeez, why do people automatically assume that when I talk about people having security that it means I want everyone to be rich?

That just seems like people really are taken in with this notion that they deserve lower living standards and that we should be happy with it or grateful.
