Like the title says. 22 years old, and I just got a nice job in east Burbank. I am looking for the following in a place to live, and eventually buy a condo.

Extremely busy. I love noise and hate being alone.
Walking distance to coffe, bars, gym, etc.
Commute of under 30min per day.

Any suggestions?

What about Pasadena? Walkable and fun, highly academic population (even TV's Big Bang Theory is set there ) and close enough to Burbank.

Why don't you just live in Burbank? That would be easiest, with hardly any commute at all.

Burbank and Pasadena aren't extremely busy but they're also not dead, and they fit your other requirements. If you want extremely busy and within 30 min of Burbank there's Hollywood and Downtown.

What's your housing budget? What kind of housing do you want? Rent a room? Studio?

Burbank, (north) Glendale or Pasadena. South Pasadena and La Crescenta are excellent also.

Try checking out the North Hollywood arts district. Lots of bars, restaurants, gyms, & grocery stores in walking distance. And only minutes from Burbank. Not a lot of nightlife going on in Burbank for a 22 year old. I wouldn't recommend living there.

West Hollywood has a very vibrant nightlife, and it wouldn't be too far of a commute.

Downtown Burbank, Downtown Glendale, or parts of Los Feliz.

Pasadena as suggested is very nice, but its going to push the 30 minute drive in the morning depending on how far from freeways you live and also how far from the freeways you work.

Another option due to your age is Downtown LA. Much more expensive than the above options(you can get an older 1 bd in Glendale, Burbank, Los Feliz, or Glendale in the $1100-1200 range, DTLA will run $1500-1800 for a smaller loft) but theres many more bar and nightlife options. Morning commute is against traffic and will take about 20-40 minutes depending on where you are. I should mention that theres a LOT of ladies your age living in DTLA.

Studio City. You're close to Burbank, and you're a quick drive over the hill to Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood.
