Cousin came in for a visit and she is all into the celeb culture and wants to hang out at the Ivy because it's always featured on TMZ. I looked it up online and found out that there are two of them. Which one is better?

I want to make the trip memorable for her so I was hoping to do brunch over there but I do not want to break the bank. Is it too pricey? I can handle a 50 dollar tab but if it's anymore for two people I do not know.

Is it too bougie? I mean will I be greeted with some snobbishness from the patrons and the staff or is it more laid back?

Your thoughts. And feel free to recommend some other LA hot spots. Thanks.

Definitely Robertson. You'll be cutting it close at $50 (can't she chip in?) The staff is fine; patrons will probably ignore you. The Ivy - Los Angeles Restaurant - MenuPages Californian, Mediterranean Restaurant Search

The "real" Ivy is on Robertson, if you can only pick one, go there. Ivy At The Shore is in SM, and is good, but the real original Ivy experience is at the one on Robertson.

This is LA, there will be guys in t-shirts and flip flops worth $10m and guys in suits wishing they were. You just can't tell. No one will think twice about anyone else there, unless you're staring at another patron, if you know what I mean.

I've kind of been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while & I may try to go before the year's over. I would think the one on Robertson is better. Actually, I think it's better to be dressed casually, then you'll blend in more with the rich folks. Also, I'd try to go on a regular old weekday if you want to see more celebs because they tend to like avoiding crowds/the papparazzi, etc.

Not breaking the bank and going to the Ivy usually don't go in the same sentence. There are plenty of nice, more affordable options to take your cousin. Or make her pitch in.

Robertson. They are pretty overpriced. I think you can get a burger for $25 but most of their food is around $30+.
For two people with beverages, tax, and a tip, I think it would be over $50. Make your cousin chip in.
Have fun.

My cousin is a broke ass college kid. I don't mind paying a bit over 50 bucks. I figured it was going to be that much.

It just better be worth the price. I've spent more on dinner in Studio City so that's not too bad. Obviously we are not going out for dinner. If we do its In and Out.

Anyone else recommend any celeb spots, bars and bougie places so she can have her Facebook pix looking "playa".

Go spend a day at Starbucks in Beverly Hills, it wont cost as much and you'll probably see a few famous people along the way.

Seeing famous people is random unless you have some clue as to how to spot them. I was in the Cheesecake factory at The Grove in West Hollywood a couple years ago and some young girl was making a fuss about someone and having her mom take her picture, i asked the mom "who is that" and she was like "its demi lovato and joe jonas" and im like "oh, ok". Anyway, Demi was super nice, she took a pic with the girl and signed some piece of paper, the girl was really excited to meet her and Demi was really happy to be met.

the only place i've regularly seen celebrities is at Coogie's in Malibu. I know it's a bit of drive from the east valley, but the odds are good, especially around breakfast time. otherwise, you're probably better off hanging out on ventura in studio city. i have a coworker who lives there and she tells me about celebrity sightings all the time.
