I moved into West LA a few months ago. Definitely a fun time, but I can't stand the traffic and the cars at all times, 24 hours a day. Really gets to me after a while and I'd rather live somewhere a little more quiet. My roommate and I are 23, we're big into music and that whole scene, but we'd rather have a more quiet place with less smog and less people to actually live at if possible.

What are some good suggestions for places outside LA that may still be younger, but just less hustle and bustle type stuff?

Thanks!

How far outside LA? "LA" is a metropolitan area of 500 square miles.

Yeah that's why I'm asking haha. Doesn't matter. I'm just looking for less smog and less traffic. So, wherever that exists would be an optimal place.

i would say topanga. its a bit of a haul but there are loads of musicians- many famous- who live out there, and its the sort of place you could wander round in with your guitar and probably make some friends. its hippie to hell and back. and its rural. depends on where you work, really, if you do work. if you work on the westside and commute from topanga you got at least an hour or more on your hands, depending on the time of day.
