Yes, I know there is ghetto, crime and gangs almost everywhere but I would like to know if its REALLY bad, like...compton or watts..etc.
Thanks.
If you stay near the Ladera/Baldwin Hills side on Inglewood or near Carlton Square. It's 100% more nice than Compton or Watts and it's close and convient to many areas in La. Really a hidden gem honestly depending on what area your living in.

When I was a teen I started dating a beautiful Samoan girl who lived in Carson. When she told me she was related to the "Boo Ya Tribe" I dumped her. Anyone remember these guys? They were a Carson based Samoan Blood gang rap group. Scariest thugged out gangster guys you ever seen. They would make "Tony Rocky Horror" run in fear.

What I mean is,
Would El Segundo be a preferrable alternative.

Sheesh.

I know a woman who actually married one of those idiots. He beat the crap out of her all the time and she got fed up and left his ass.

Im polynesian(not Samoan) but I never liked their music, and always thought their look was stupid and ugly. Especially the hair-ick.

The long braided hair with rubber bands every two inches? Classic. They were some seriously scary guys.

lol, i would not say that it is extremely upscale! but maybe there are parts that i'm not familiar with. i always thought el segundo was a poor little town that borders watts and lawndale. i'm sure there are some nice parts though.

anyway, inglewood and most cities are the same they have nice and not so nice parts! and plus, if it is where you have to live if you mind your business and stay in after dark, you'll probablly be fine! Good luck

wow. u needa get around more. el segundo borders Manhattan Beach to the south and Playa del Rey to the north making it nice. The beach is to the west and Lawndale is to the east. How did you come up with it bordering Watts????

jesseh431,

i think i'm confusing the city with the blvd. sometimes i get off of the 110 on el segundo & figueroa. isn't that by watts? plus i remember back in the day watching sanford & son and they would talk about el segundo and I know they lived in watts!

so, your right on both your points, it does not border watts and i do need to get out more often.

About Carson-I would rather live there than Inglewood, just make sure it's near the Torrance area or the W/SW area b/c NE side is Compton. Gardena, Lawndale, and Hawthorne are others to check out, but stay as far west as you can in all of those.
Thanks so much for the replies.

isn't Harbor City near Hawthorne?
