Hi. My daughter is planning a wedding in LA sometime next year (date unknown). She is so busy with work she is finding it difficult to find time to plan. As I live in Florida, the only help I can be is by doing research for her. She is looking for a venue to hold her wedding. Her requirements are:

1. have the wedding ceremony and reception at the same place
2. be able to party there till at least 2 am
3. have her own caterer
4. have it at a place that is a little "funky" or different
5. $5000 or under for the venue.
6. this is for about 150 people

any ideas? thanks in advance. deb

Going with the fact that yoru daughter wants something a little different here are a couple of places that might work, I don't know if they fit all of your criteria but maybe will give you a starting place?

This place looks neat, I don't know how late you can stay and it says that 125 people is the max but it's worth a look: Catchlight Studio Los Angeles, CA - Wedding Sites - Event Venues - California

[seven-degrees] Laguna Beach, CA - Wedding Sites - Event Venues - California

Marvimon Los Angeles, CA - Wedding Sites - Event Venues - California

I would google whatever you're looking for and see what you can find.

that's going to be tough, your budget is pretty low and you want a lot. however, i did go to a reception in alhambra last year that was pretty nice. the name of the place was almansor court. i think the couple had a pretty meager budget but they were still able to have a nice reception. they had a crummy dj though, which was a bummer, make sure you get a good dj!
