That tiny little store is way too crowded. Every time I go there I feel as though there are twice as many people in the store than there ought to be. No matter where you stop, it seems like you're always in somebody's way. Is the TJ on Olympic to the east any less crowded?

BTW, I gots my honey peanuts...oh yeah!

Many of them are claustrophobic, have horrible parking, and attract the types of self-centered, "I'm-the-only-person-in-the-world" aisle-blocking idiots who hold up other shoppers while they minutely inspect 35 bottles of ****ty wine as if the meaning of life will be revealed on the labels.

Is there a Trader Joe's that isn't overcrowded? As much as I like their stores, I've never been in one that isn't jammed at all times. The one in Pasadena on Fair Oaks (or is it Arroyo?) is packed and has a parking lot that needs to be avoided if one wants to stay sane.

Wow I've never seen Trader Joe's customers described so accurately.

show me a place these days that's *not* packed with people, this is not 25 years ago, there's way more people now than there used to be, and it's only gonna get worse. There's new people being born, growing up, or coming in from other places

What do you really expect? You're in santa monica, in a trader joes, in the middle of yipster land.

I like trader joes too, but I lower my expectations every time I go to one, because I know it's going to be a mad house in the store. But honestly... the whole trader joes fad is really starting to wear me out. As much as I like their stuff, I just can't stand that everyone else likes it too. The chain's increasing popularity is butting heads with the laid back, easy going shopping experience they try to strive for.

The San Dimas TJ I go to isn't packed unless it's peak hour in the afternoon--lots of parking too. But that's sleepy San Dimas for you.

The stores in Pasadena are madhouses--same with the (original?) TJ in Monrovia, but at least that one has ample parking.

I used to often go to the tiny Culver City one across from Sony when I was working in the area. Screw that TJ.

Here's tip - at least it works here in Portland - go on Sunday morning about 9 or 10. Usually much less crowded as people are sleeping in or are in church.

Even like 15 years ago, the freeways would be pretty empty after 11PM. Now they are busy even 1AM in the morning.
