Well it would probably be better than what we have now which is a free for all wild wild west type of environment where people can do all kinds of illegal things and suffer no repercussions.

True ...Giuliani would be better.

We really need someone that is going to CLEAN the city up...both physically and figuratively.

How did New York's mayor get into the conversation?
This thread is about who will be the next mayor of Los Angeles.
If you want to talk about New York, then post in that forum.
Please let's get back on topic.
Bob..

I'd like to know what you like most about James. Is it his outsider status?

What I like about Garcetti is that he is going to continue most of the things I liked most about Tony V, while being more business friendly. It seems to me his vision of LA's future is most in line with mine.

I also kind of like that other super-underdog candidate, can't remember his name right now though.

Number one is his outsider status.
I believe he is an honest man who sees many problems in this city, many of which are city council conceived.
He wants to approach these problems with common sense, instead of looking to see how he personally, and the city council would benefit by catering too outside interest.
Like many of us, he too is tired of the wasteful spending by the council, and wants to take this city in a new, and much needed direction.
For way to many years, the council has dictated to the city what will be, and that is not their job, that is the position of the Mayor.
I believe he would be a much needed change in this city, and my hope is that come election day, he will be our new Mayor.
Bob.

I like that Kevin James mentions that we need to end corruption in this city. http://www.kevinjamesformayor.com/issues/corruption

I also like Kevin james stance on the medical marijuana issue. I think the city's mishandling of this issue is a public display of their mishandling of many different issues across the city.

As the former Co-Chair of AIDS Project Los Angeles, for many years I have supported the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes for those patients that have a legitimate medical need as confirmed by a physician, including people suffering from AIDS-related illnesses, cancer, glaucoma, and numerous other illnesses for which marijuana provides real relief from serious ailments. The City Council, however, completely mismanaged the regulation of dispensaries which led to dispensaries opening up all over the City close to schools, parks and churches. Much of the "product" provided in many dispensaries across the City was tested and determined to have come from illegal drug cartels. City leadership allowed the matter to get completely out of control.

Anyone who thinks there is a single logical politician residing in the state of California is helpless.
