Hello all, just a couple quick questions regarding commute times.

I'm going to be taking a job in Santa Monica, hours ~630am to ~5-6pm. Just wondering what I would be looking at in the way of commute times from Santa Clarita? How about Oxnard?

I know they're going to be terrible, but just trying to get a rough idea of how long.

Thanks !

Probably 40 minutes in the morning, and 60 in the evening for SC and 60 and 80 for Oxnard.

I work about a mile from the SM city limits and have a coworker who lives in Santa Clarita. It takes them about an hour in the morning and they can use the carpool lane. Evenings are worse.

It takes my wife an hour to get home in Encino from SM during the evening rush hour. Santa Clarita is probably another half hour.

I used to live in Santa Clarita and my job took me to different areas. Realistically look at about 1 and a half in the mornings since you it can vary. Evenings will be 2+ hours.

Try and work out some type of work schedule where you are not commuting constantly into traffic. Maybe, leave earlier or arrive later.

The traffic in LA can really be tough. I lived in LA and commuted east-west for years, it can really wear on you.
