Well, you know how it is. I can't really explain it. If we were childless and I knew I could make good money, I'd be all up in Hollywood's grill, haha.

Oh yeah. But with kids, the schools are bad, according to several websites it's not very safe, and it's not exactly family friendly.

Have you ever been to Burbank? Pretty much the entire city is nice, which is why it's so expensive. There are alot of neighborhoods in the western SFV that are safe yet are north of Ventura Blvd. From what I've heard, places like West Hills, Chatsworth, Porter Ranch, Granada Hills Northridge, etc. aren't too bad and many are quite nice. The Valley covers a huge area and the south of ventura blvd rule really doesn't apply to the entire place. If you look on a map of the Valley, you'll see that only about 10% of the SFV is south of Ventura Blvd.

I don't know if it would be the best choice for you personally. I mean, Studio City and Sherman Oaks are great areas as well. It really depends on what you're looking for. For some people, who like gritty city life, Burbank may be a little too nice, clean, and suburban. Between those three areas though, I don't think you can go wrong. I was saying good things specifically about Burbank just to point out that even though it's not south of the blvd, it's still a safe place to live.

Ok then I'll stick to those three. Out of those three which would be more affordable? I was thinking Sherman Oaks?

I have one thing to say, be prepared to be BROKE. LA and all of soCAL is insanely expensive. Hope it's worth it to you! I'm trying to get the heck out of dodge...!

Once you get to LA you will be able to figure out which neighborhood is the best choice for you and your situation. You won't be able to determine that through Internet correspondence.

Actually I don't Smoke and I'm not bitter but I see that everyday. I actually came out here hit the ground running and ended up in Santa Monica after only two weeks of living in California. No don't get me wrong I'm comfortable because I lucked out but I'm REALISTIC too. I'm not living in a fantasy world like most of the ambitiously retarded people here. Los Angeles is nothing but a city full of Broken Dreams, problems and mental people. Sorry it's true. I'm too good of a person for this town.

But I'm gonna try and visit all the places I can before I have to come back for school!! gosh I can't wait. lol you know what is so sad...I've started doing the "California roll" now. Someone told me that in California, you don't stop or even yield at a yield or stop sign...you hit the "California roll" (No Cop No Stop!!) hahahaha!

You'll probably get yourself killed with that stupid "California Roll".
Funny how you have to make your own mistakes to learn. Sadly it will be a complete waste of time and you'll get here in time for the Earthquake too. If I had a Mom who cared enough to try and talk me out of coming here I would have been grateful and would have listened. I will be leaving DodgeCity sometime next year and God I can finally get back to myself and relax.
