Hello I travel the 110 freeway atleast twice a week if I use the express lane must I get a transponder to use it?
Even if I have 2 or more people in my car?
I see the explanation to put you transponder in a mylar bag when carpooling so there will be no charges to your transponder but must you have a transponder no matter what or can I drive with my daughter and her friends in that lane without owning a transponder at all.
I have asked this question so many times without an answer that I finally joined this forum in hopes of a answer.

Yes, you need a transponder.
Mylar bag??? There are 3 settings on the box. If you click it to 2+ passengers or 3+ passengers, there will be no charge along the 110.

The 110 is now a toll lane, not a carpool lane. You need a transponder when driving in that lane.

All vehicles traveling on the Metro ExpressLanes must have a FasTrak® transponder. On the I-110, vehicles with two or more occupants per vehicle will be able to continue using the Metro ExpressLanes toll-free. On the I-10, vehicles with three or more occupants will be able to use Metro ExpressLanes toll-free at all hours. Vehicles with two occupants will pay a toll during peak hours (5am-9am; 4pm-7pm), but will have toll-free use during off-peak hours. Click here to learn about the Carpool Loyalty Program.
