hello. i will soon be priced out of my apartment and my housing budget is from 400-500 dollars. all i need is a studio. i want to know if i can one in that price range in a quiet/safe neighborhood. i would prefer Koreatown,East Hollywood or Mid City, but i don't mind Highland Park,Mt.Washington or Jefferson Park. does anyone know if i can get it done?

PS - not that it matters, but i am white.

No way. That's even stretching it to find an apartment with a roommate at that price.

No, studios in the areas you listed are easily double that.

Your best bet is to actually share a studio with someone in Koreatown or East Hollywood. Then you can each get away with paying around $500. Not that bad, it's like being in college again.

You might want to ask about the "white mans discount" . It's a little known secret in the L.A housing market.

Whites have a reserved neighborhood in LA that is heavily discounted. It's called Affirmative Action which is made to preserve racial diversity in the city of LA.

No. Maybe you can rent a room for that though.

Not a studio sorry. More like a room with some roommates sharing a two bedroom. I've seen studios for rent in really sketchy neighborhoods for as cheap as 750 but that's it.
