i'm wondering,is there a reason why Westchester is very diverse and Inglewood is not. both are very nice neighborhoods that are located close to the airport. I just find it weird that about 1-2 out of 10 people in Inglewood are white and about 6-7 out of 10 in Westchester are white.

Westchester borders heavily white areas on its western edge like Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, and El Segundo. Inglewood is to the east and borders heavily Latin and black South LA. It's just a progression of more people of color inland, which is not unusual in southern california.

You are right on. it is pretty easy, for people who know much about Los Angeles to understand why certain areas are predominantly one way, versus another.

It's even more interesting to look at rental searches and see the huge price disparity between west of La Cienega and east. I hope we start seeing more investment and redevelopment east of LC and east of the 405 in general. It's either too far out of my price range west of the 405 or questionably affordable east. If they ever build a complex right over the freeway, it should be just right for me.

the part of westchester east of sepulveda might be diverse, but the side west of it is mostly white. i would know, i live here (west of sepulveda).

Actually, Inglewood is still "diverse", though becoming more and more Latino. Still blacks, whites and Hispanics there, just perhaps not all together in the same part of town.

^Never said it wasn't "diverse" it just isn't as much as Westchester, and is undoubtedly more Latin and black than Westchester or Playa del Rey.

One is regarded as an extension of South Central and the other is regarded as a backyard of the airport. Neither has an outstanding reputation but Westchester is regarded as habitable by middle class white folks and the black professional class as wells as a historic Asian population.

Westchester is not diverse. It's filled with upper class white people that fear LAX and LMU expansion.

^Census says its about half white, 16% latin, 16% blakc, and 10% asian. That's very diverse for LA.
