Most of us will probably not be around in 50 years (or we'll be pretty old), but I was just curious as to what people think Los Angeles will be like in 2057. If you could peak into the future right now, what things do you think might strike you? Positive or negative, please share!

The new Atlantis. Due to global warming most of L.A. will be under the water of an extremely polluted Pacific.

Global warming is the biggest hoax in history. Most of the warming occured years ago caused by solar flare ups not mankind. In the Bible it says that God is in control of the world that he created so therefore mankind canot have any effect that is no more than temporary. GW is a hoax by liberal fanatics who want to control your life. It is the new communism do not buy in to it folks research the issue for yourself and see

see below Al Gore is full of it. Our state is being lead down a deadend by morons. There is nothing wrong with sensible environment protection. No one wants dirty air and water but common sense is going out the window in the environment debate.

"Blade Runner," but in Spanish, not Cantonese.

The googleplex-rich, part of the new two-tiered Third World economic design of L.A. (the rest are the poor, natch) will not allow their holdings to be submerged in the global warming, but will contruct elaborate dyking systems a la The Netherlands (which ceased to be a country after its internal Islamo-civil war.)

Los Angeles is considered the most likely nu-sesessionist area of the U.S., as its demographic has little fealty to America but instead to long ago foreign soil ancestral ties. As for American citizens, whether naturalized or born, in L.A.? Let's put it this way: at some points in history, the confluence of factors temporarily overwhelm, as in the best thing for Jewish people in 1930's central Europe to have done would have been to get the heck away. "Not wanted" turns all too readily into "not allowed" and worse... If we're seeing so much of the bad sides of human nature now in our non-assimilated populace, we may not have the rosiest future, no matter what economic engines continue to churn.

I agree with LAAngel2008 ...global warming is somewhat of a hoax, sure average temps are rising a degree or two ...but the world has been both warmer and colder in the past .....70 million years ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth it was much warmer ....palm trees in what is the Great Plains .... recently "tree" fossils have been found on Ellesmere Island in the high arctic ....polution yes ....everyone can agree that's not a good thing and will get alot worse when China and India have more cars ...governments shud get moving on alternate fuels ...the technology is out there ...just need the will ....2057 ...hmmm....Los Angeles population will be at least 25 million and even Barstow will be considered a suburb !
