I'm a 19 year old planning a big move to los angeles to pursue an acting career basically trying to make it "big". I want to be in the performing arts industry. Please give me a list of reasonable safe places to live in LA. let me start by saying I am moving by myself no roommate. I have already saved up money and will be transferring to a Hooters out there or a different waiting job. anything $700-900 i will be willing to pay for. no locations in east los angeles. I just need a location not to far from auditions and where theres lots of events stores and fun areas near by. i have a car so that is a plus. i just need to find a safe resonable place to live and hopefully theres a hooters near by for work NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HOW HARD IT WILL BE ONLY REALISTIC AND POSITIVE COMMENTS! I ALREADY KNOW THIS JOURNEY WILL NOT BE A WALK IN THE PARK! I JUST NEED ADVICE ON LOCATIONS! THANKS!

1. you'll need a car
2. you'll have to split an apartment with at least one other person in your price range
3. LA is huge and the "industry" is located all over the city, so there is no one place where most of the action occurs
4. at your age, you can't even go out to the bars to drink, so your social life will be greatly impacted.
5. with #4 in mind, maybe try to take some classes at a community college
6. good luck

your budget will get you a 1br, but more likely a studio in a relatively crummy part of town. good luck with that!

$700-900 will get you a studio in a poor area. I'm paying roughly $800 a month in a decent area, but with a roommate - 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

You don't look for a roommate to move with you. You look for a roommate on, say, Craigslist in Los Angeles. You can't afford to live alone. You need to be more flexible.

Hi, I am trying to move ther myself if you are serious about finding a roommate. I'm 26 and I live in Virginia. When are you planning to move there? I know you aren't trying to meet one online but realistically its hard trying to move out there on your own. I have graduated with my masters in Teaching. Have a full time job, female and I visitied LA this past fall and fell in love.
