The easy answer is people overseas, which I've heard a lot about in California. Of course, I've also seen sellers select an offer that isn't from all cash buyers. Although hard, it is possible to play the emotion card when dealing with sellers. At the end of the day, they are people just like you and me.

cash buyers have careers; mortgagers have jobs.

my cash offers come from savings, interests, and accumulated profit from flippings. i've never had a 9-5 job in my life and dont see why people settle for that boring, limited way of life.

my first 'job' was a farm hand on a dairy farm at the age of 15yo, i worked from 4:30am to noon.. my 1st career was as a domain broker.. at 18yo i was registering short domains i could think of like 'dealstreet.com' and just random 3-4 letter acronyms.. i was paying like $10/domain using tips working at a french-caribbean restaurant close to home and after i got into college, via credit cards, was selling them on ebay.. then got into leasing apts and management consulting, finally flipping after college which put me thru grad school and afforded cash for first few flips.

i've seen people with mortgages.. they tend to have 9-5 jobs where they surf the net at their cubicle most of the day and get like $30k-$40k/yr to do that and most of that money dissapears into rent, clothes, shoes, vid games, food, cigs, booze.. american culture is CONSUMPTION- and INDULGENCE-based that no wonder most ppl barely have $100k in their retirement years in this generation, and college grads refuse careers left and right, and the dollar is worth pennies compared to what it was worth just 100 yrs ago... housing prices havent really gone up over the years, inflation has, folks!

do ya think in non-western cultures ppl can just borrow a million dollars for their dream house? they made do with what they have and live within their means - contently - if western folks were put into that same situation where they cant finance anything, they'd probably commit suicide, most all of them

Hah, trolling to the max with a dose of arrogance and condescendence.

seriously, grammer nazi? =D

i stand by my principles, that the very TITLE of this thread is trolling to the max.

for it implies that somehow the majority of us here in the state/country are cash-poor, and only some extra-ordinary force could be why some of us actually dont believe in all the interest paid and closing costs associated with a mortgage every 3-4 years.

lowered expectations, much?

It's spelled grammar. You sure you went to grad school?

^grammer nazi cunfirmed=D

anywayS, to reiterate, folks examine the title of this thread and what's in CAPs and it may be subtle but its suggesting local people are cash-poor and only foreign people have cash to afford their homes without loans.

shame to see so many buying into this xenophobia. i mean even if ppl are bringing cash INTO the country, why bicker? consider leaving the bickering for cash leaving the country, folks!
