I lived in Brea for 15 years and worked for the County of Orange, so I'm familiar with all the Orange County cities and their images. I may have an opportunity to work as a humane officer in San Gabriel and Temple City. I did find census info online. Images come to mind when you say Santa Ana, Irvine, Newport Beach and Anaheim but what is the public image of these two cities? Appreciate info on nice apartment complexes, housing prices, good areas, bad areas or comparable to which Orange County cities? I was told San Gabriel has a high gang presence. I thought that was more inland like Fontana. I also know there is a large Asian population but not sure if its Chinese, Japanese or Vietnamese.

The north side of San Gabriel is nicer than the south, say north of Las Tunas Blvd, which is closer to Temple City. San Gabriel or Temple City is not known to be a "high gang area" to the best of my knowledge. There is a large Asian presence there, mainly Chinese. The other areas with a high Asian presence would be Arcadia, and Walnut (Diamond Bar).

The north side of San Gabriel (no surprise) has the higher housing prices because it is adjacent to San Marino.

The images that come to mind are San Gabriel Valley middle to upper-middle class communities.

I lived in Pasadena and South Pasadena for years and know these areas reasonably well.

The unincorporated parts of Monrovia, El Monte, Duarte and Arcadia have some gang activity which is near Temple City. I used to work in El Monte and drive through those areas. While you hear of shooting in my 5 years working and commuting through there, I never had any issues.

Other than that yeah a big asian population.
