I used to live in Rancho Park and still live very close by. It's about as safe as you can get for LA.

I lived there for a year in 2011 / 2012. It's quiet and safe. I actually had something stolen out of my car when I lived there and I was more shocked that it had happened than upset about losing my GPS.

There isn't much to do there, but I never felt unsafe.

I lived there many years as mentioned before. I did have something stolen from my car , it was one of those portable CD players. My sister had a car stolen . We never had a breakin or anything while living there, but the house is now rented and someone stole some stuff from tenants. It seemed like they left the door unlocked though.

I agree that there is quite a bit of property crime, but violent crime is pretty low.

Where I live now , I had my place broken into less than 2yrs of living there.

People like to act like crime doesn't happen in the nicer areas, but it does. Also the nice areas means people have nicer stuff.

For Rancho Park there were 15 violent crimes the last 6months.. In my current area it's 100.
Rancho Park 262 property crimes, current one is 696.

But Rancho Park is a lot smaller population than my current neighborhood.
