Me and my friend are explorers and since I had something to do in San Pedro I decided to take her down there and then we can go see what's up in the harbor area. So San Pedro, Carson and Long Beach, maybe signal hill since I heard that was the most diverse zip code in Greater LA, diversity is interesting. I've been looking into Croatian food since I hear San Pedro has Croatians and I don't think I ever tried anything Croatian or even met one, I was also looking into Norwegian but couldn't find anything. Although they're both a ways away (Where I have to go is like at the southeastern tip) I've been looking closer at Slavko's I havent been able to find when it opens though, it may be too early. South Shores meat shop may be a little pricier and it's out of the way. Pavich's also looks interesting. Carson we want to try Samoan, same deal with Croatian, looking at Poly Grill and Bakery. Long Beach we want to explore throughout but what stands out over there is that's the only place I can think of with plenty of Cambodians so we're thinking of heading over to their enclave I'm thinking dinner at Monorom.

I may have places to eat figured out but do you guys have anything in mind for inexpensive things to see and do for a 19 year old and an 18 year old in those areas? Any differing culinary recommendations for trying those ethnic cuisines out? Anyone know when Slavko's opens? It's nice just seeing new areas but it'd be nice to know where to go besides restaurants so I ask you denizens of city-data.

Oh and I'd like to add that when it comes to new places to see in that area I'm not afraid of going through ghettos, I mean neither my neighborhood or my friend's are all that good, and if there's anything interesting to see about it I'm down.

There is a fish market in San Pedro right on the harbor that has some food stalls with really good baked fish and mexican side dishes, chill to walk around as well. Long Beach downtown around Pine street is worth looking around as well, These places are nice because you can get out of the car stretch your legs, walk round before or after lunch/dinner.

Pavich's is very good. Their pizza is delicious ...try the Croatian pizza. Their Croatian offerings are good too.
