Hello people!

I was wondering if anyone here know where there would be a firework show around Hollywood area? I am from Northern California and a friend and I are spending a couple days there for July 4th. Thanks for the input!

I think there is always fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl. Usually it is part of a concert. I check it online and they seem to do the fireworks the day before, too. Not sure how much and how good the display is from Hollywood Blvd.

Another alternative is the free one in Downtown. Last year they did fireworks at Downtown LA City Hall/Grand Park for the first time. Seemed somewhat disorganized and super crowded. They only expected half of what turned out. This year, they are making it bigger. Check out Grand Park LA website for more info.

Otherwise just google 4th of July fireworks in LA 2014. Places like Long Beach Queen Mary and Pasadena Rose Bowl usually have the big displays.

Santa Monica used to have a display. I tried to go a few years ago only to find it cancelled that year. I was stuck in traffic for a couple hours with a bunch of other disappointed drivers..

Book a flight into LAX on July 4th that lands at 10 P.M.

Choose a window seat.

Enjoy.

Best shows cost money: Rose Bowl, Fairgrounds in Pomona, Queen Mary, etc.

Marina Del Rey does fireworks as do many other cities all over the county. If you have some real cash in your jeans the best deal is to get ia window at one of the bar/dining room scenes downtown or West. Next best would be way up in the Baldwin Hills or Pasadena although the LAPD or PPD might run you off.

Do any of them do it on midnight of July 3rd? like, at 11:59 pm of July 3rd. Or do most of them happen July 4th night? What time do they start usually?

Most firework shows happen around 9pm. Rose Bowl at 9:30. Sun sets around 7:50pm. It doesnt get completely dark until 8:30. So 8:30-9pm is a good time for fireworks to start. Also fireworks at Exposition Park.
