not true. I have a car but prefer to walk to all of my amenities that are within a mile. since I live in a highly walkable area that's about everything I need - supermarket, bank, shopping, movie theater, bars, eateries, gym, etc.

The most walkable parts of LA county are between Santa Monica and Downtown. Particularly Santa Monica, Westwood/West LA, West Hollywood, Hollywood, Koreatown, Mid-Wilshire, and Downtown.
